The Monastery of Saint Stephen |
MeteoraTo the left is the nunnery we visited after lunch. It was fairly big, no steps to climb and only a small bridge to reach it. The most interesting they had apart from a breathtaking view was a lot of really interesting and intricate woodcarvings. They also have a small museum showing ritual items of all kinds and some handwritten manuscripts. The museum has a small souvenirshop that, apart frompostcards, also sells incenses of all kinds and flavours. The nuns that run this monastery also had a very nice garden entrance forbidden with all kinds of herbs. |
This is the sign at the entrance of the monastery of Saint Stephen, which tells you as a visitor which rules apply for visiting the monastery. |
